fake name is a mod that will allow us to change the name of our character for a specific world. That is, we will not be changing our account name, which will be the same as always, but the character name for that particular world. This mod works in single player games and on servers, only the server should also have the mod installed for it to work.

To change the name of our character we will have to write the following command in the game chat line, /fakename set [player] . The new name will appear, both above the character’s head, as well as in the chat line and in death messages.
